Kona Storm Footage from March 13 and 14

Footage recorded on Lānaʻi during the Kona storm on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, shows flooding, fallen trees, and storm damage across several areas of the island. Maui Electric crews were working to repair a downed power line after a tree was knocked over. Another large tree fell near the mauka softball field, and branches and debris were scattered across park areas and walkways. At Hulopoʻe Beach Park, stormwater flooded the parking lot as runoff moved toward the coast.

With no natural surface water on Lānaʻi, the rainfall created temporary runoff across the landscape. In Cavendish, keiki bodyboarded and played in the runoff flowing through Iwiole Gulch during the storm.
