Hulopoʻe Beach Park Cleanup After Kona Storm

Hulopoʻe Beach Park remains saturated following the recent Kona storm.

The parking lot is holding stormwater by design to protect the bay. Water removal and silt cleanup will take time.

Hulopoʻe Beach Park Rangers have placed cones at the entrance to mark muddy areas where vehicles have been getting stuck—at least four have needed assistance so far, pulling crews away from cleanup efforts.

Crews involved in the cleanup are asking for space so work can continue safely and efficiently. If you need to enter, use extra caution navigating the area.

For transparency, the driver of the vehicle shown gave permission to be included.
