Prepare for Hurricane Season: A Guide for Lānaʻi
With Tropical Storm Fausto passing north of Hawaiʻi and an active hurricane season forecast for the Central Pacific, now is the time for us to prepare. Fausto reached Category 2 hurricane strength on Friday, July 24, with sustained winds of 105 mph, before weakening as it approached the islands. Earlier forecasts indicated the possibility of wind and rainfall impacts before the storm’s track carried it north of the state.
The 2026 Lānaʻi Hurricane Preparedness Guide includes information on emergency supplies, medications, pet needs, home protection and family plans. We should prepare enough essential supplies for at least 14 days in case storm conditions disrupt harbor operations and delay resupply shipments.
